Changing user on a 7135

I can't find (even on this forum) a means for changing the user on a 7135. My wife has been playing w/one of my phone failures; she wants to use it as a PDA. So far I've deleted the Saved_Preferences.pdb file from both the phone and the computer, but the HotSync still wants to sync to my profile on the computer, even if I set my wife's profile in the user drop-down in the Palm Desktop s/w.

Anyone know how I can get the phone to forget who I am?

TIA,

KM

I am not 100% sure about this, but I think the User ID in the phone is used to ensure that any attempt to HotSync will use the correct data regardless of what you have specified in the Palm Desktop drop-down. I believe that the ID in the 7135 can be erased by doing a hard reset then performing a HotSync. The 7135 should then be loaded with the data associated with the User specified in the drop-down.

Correct, you need to erase the HotSync ID from the Palm device (easiest way to accomplish that is to do a hard reset), then the next time you sync you can assign it a new HotSync ID and any backups will be kept separate from the other device(s).

Six the hard way, eh? OK, I guess I need to copy over into my wife's directory those things she wants from my backup of the handheld so she has them when I redo the unit. Thanks for the input, guys.
