Address book replacement

I am looking for an address book replacement. I want to be able to sort by first name. I have tried a few of them, but none of them tie into the phone part. If anyone has found one, or found out how to sort by first name please let me know.

Thanks

Well, I'm in the same boat. I used to use addresspro on my palm VIIx and allowed you to sort any way you wanted. It also brought in my account history along with records for each contact in my ACT! database. Very slick. Now I don't know if it will dial the contact but I would think it would. I just got the 7135 and am just starting to set it up. Let me know what you find out. Thanks

Unhappy Addressbook & Calendar Replacement

I installed addresspro on my kyocera 7135 and it worked well. It had all of the functionality that I wanted except I wasn't able to dial from it. Does anyone know how to get around this? Is it possible?

Also, does anyone know of a good date book/calendar replacement? I really would like something that had a more user friendly daily view.

TakePhone is the only thing you need! I barely use the default, or Super Names that are installed. TakePhone will seach by many of the fields so you just start picking the letters and it searches. Try it!

I think you will see that most people like Agendus or DateBk. I use DateBk, I looked at the Agendus site, saw the email integration and wasn't interested so I went with DateBk. Either will be a vast improvement over the Palm date book and both use the base date book (rather than their own database), which seems to "play" better with other apps and features.

I've tried to install TakePhone a couple of times now and both times as I press the dial button I get the cursed Fatal Alert. Perhaps I have a conflict on my unit. Does anyone know of any known conflicts with this program?

Try sending an email to the developer; he's very responsive to any issues.

Angry Datebk Alarms

I just installed Datebk on my 7135, big improvement over the standard palm datebook. The only problem that I'm having so far is figuring out how to change the volume on the datebook alarms.

If I use the prefs/pda link it only changes the palm alerts volume and sound not datebk's ; how can I change datebk's? It's way to loud by default. Help!

Hi,

I think that may explain it.

You should use the new version - 5.05m

Get it at my site

Thumbs up

Thanks a lot.

Your new file works perfect and it is very slick. I want to road test it for a while and will be sure to register it after I've had a chance to play.

Thanks again

I too have this same question. The alarms seem to be at full volume without regard to how preferences are set up in the PDA.

Thumbs down Datebk Alarms

I e-mailed the alarm question to the makers of datebk, and this is the response that I received:

"DateBk5 does not control alarm volume at all. Alarm volume is controlled by
the Palm OS, but for some reason, Kyocera seems to have not implemented this
properly (you will see the same problem in any third party application that
uses the ALarm Manager to set alarms)."

So, it looks like for now we're going to have to use the palm alarms. Oh well.

Does anyone know if I can sync an Act! 6.0 database into Takephone or some other app that will work as a dialer, hopefully keep my notes and my voice activated dialing etc.....

Thanks!
