Replacing 7135 Ear Buds

Has anyone come up with an alternative to the Kyocera 7135 earbuds? As other users have noted, they are hard to keep in place, and the sound is pretty bad. After trying a friend's MP3 player yesterday, the sound of these buds is even more disappointing.

On another thread (below), a product is advertised that might work, but $27.50 seems steep. Anyone have any other ideas? Thanks!

This guy makes 7135 headphone/headset adapters:

I bought one from him and it works great. Unfortunately, he has temporarily stopped taking orders until he can catch up with his existing orders.

Marty, thanks. How do you find the sound quality using good headphones? Would you say it's on par with a dedicated MP3 player?

Ya, the sound quality is pretty much on par with that of a standard standalone mp3 player. Of course, feature-wise, the 7135's mp3 player doesn't even come close to that of a standalone mp3 player but sound quality is pretty much right there. Good ear/headphones make all the difference with the 7135.

I just got the adapter I ordered from PC Mobile, and I'm VERY happy with it. Yes, the 7135 does sound like a quality MP3 player when you get rid of those ear buds!

I was leery about ordering the PC mobile adapter, because it's not cheap, and you're dealing directly with a company from Hong Kong. The product seems well made, though, and works even better than I'd anticipated. I heartily recommend it:
