I've had mine since July 2003. I may be retiring it soon. I stopped using it for internet access in April 2005, when I learned that Verizon took me off MOU (because I added txt messaging to my account). I refuse to do business or give them any more of my money than I have to. My contract is up in March, and I'm probably moving to Sprint, and I may move to a Treo 700 P if it's available around that time.
I upgraded from the 6035 the day the 7135 hit the streets after being on a waitlist for 9 months. I'm still hangin' in there, though my SD card slot is no longer functional and so my backup app no longer runs. I'm sure it's my own fault as I drop it all the time.
I just can't get myself to take the Treo 650 plunge. I know I can load Jot to add Graffiti (I will NEVER resort to QWERTY for data entry) but I hate to give up the clamshell.
I've had mine since shortly after the Verizon release (the original one) and it's still going strong. I will miss the clamshell (and Palm) when it does die.
Still on my first one since 2003! Dropped it one too many times though, so there is a little crack on the case that I have to keep supergluing shut....
Edit 2/12/2006: Doh! Just when I post something like this, my 7135 starts crashing and now doesn't get past the "palm powered" splash screen without blackscreening! I had to get a replacement pronto, or otherwise I would have tried Harold out. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted! Take me off the list and count me in with the Treo 650 bunch.
I finally abandoned ship. Bought the 7135 the day it came out and have been on the original phone since - but - I really wanted better and faster web browsing. I got the Verizon Palm 700w. Great unit, but I miss the 7135's simplicity and Palm OS. It's been fun.
This is my second 7135. I bought the first one on eBay in July. It only lasted a few months. I discovered that if I switched to Alltel I could get a new 7135 for $0 (after a rebate of $200) and a two year contract. I love this phone and I'm happy to have a warranty in case this one develops problems. I use it all of the time and sync it to FirstClass, my office email system.
Welp. Couldn't put up with the charging problems any more, so today I sent mine off to Harold for repair.
If he can manage it without changing my ESN, I'll be a happy camper. It'll be a real pleasure leaving it to charge overnight and not find it DIScharged completely in the morning and requiring a complete restore.
Everyone else who sends theirs to be repaired seems very happy with the service.

I too am still using mine. I love the signal strength of this machine. In fact, I'm texting with a buddy who just got his off ebay this week. He fell in love with mine....His 6035 was never the same again...
As long as I keep getting 1xRTT with MOU billing, I have no plans to "upgrade" -- would rather de-converge than give in to Verizon's insulting billing of 1's and 0's separately depending on whether the source just happens to be digitized voice data. There's lots of aggravated people on the 650 forum trying to figure out how to get even ISP dialup to work without getting billed additionally for data and I have no interest in joining them.
The phone was rock solid until a week ago when it went into SCRP purgatory, and I realized for myself what some of the angry 7135 threads are all about. I fixed it thanks to a tip I read here (thanks Chris!) to set the phone preferences to digital only mode.
I would rather struggle with keeping my 7135 alive than get a new phone and fight the resulting war of persistance with the generally incompetent and dishonest Verizon people.
Same Verizon 7135 since May04. Missing a screw from the back I can't seem to find a replacement for. Occasional soft, rare hard resets. Other than that, still going strong. Lost MoU when I added my 2nd son's phone to my family plan so I refuse to use Verizon Data at their "got you over a barrel" rate.
I just got a used one on eBay, it seems to be all it says its supposed to be. So far (two weeks) so good.
I'm surprised Verizon was willing to activate it. I thought they would not.
My wife loves her 7135 and has been using it for over two years. I have an backup which I bought on eBay, but it is my understanding that Verizon would not activate it even as a replacement.
I don't know what she will do if her phone breaks. She really needs the Palm OS and analog. And she would really hate giving up the claim shell design. These three requirements seem pretty small to be unavailable in current products. I think even giving up analog would do her no good.
I am quite angry with Verizon over this issue. Lower-level representatives will claim that it is not E911 compatible, although you can escalate to an admission that it is. Doesn't help with the activation issue though.
My boss has had his 7135 since right after they came out (2003?) and still LOVES it! I noticed that some of you have a backup. I am encouraging him to do this as well. Is the best (only) place to get one on ebay?
