I've had a 7135 for over 5 years now, still going after one replacement from Verizon.
I don't use data, just phone and general PDA stuff.
Still looking for LOUD ringers tho.
On thread, glad your still here (off-thread, loud ringer?)
Loud ringers? You mean you don't have the "old phone?" If there is anything one can do with a 7135 it is make the ringers of your choice. The phone comes with a ringer maker, which allows one to take any sound, any volume and make their own sounds. One of its best capabilities, along with other "stuff." dr
PS: Glad your enjoying your smartphone... best ever made, so far.

out of the wireless business; but I do consulting and security as a CISSP; www.wiremore.biz shares my values and has a good business link as well.
I'm still using mine. Same pre-production phone I've had since the beginning although I've broken the screen three times and have gone through about 5 or 6 batteries. I still have the MOU data plan and Verizon has seemed to stop trying to trick or force me out of it. Must not be enough users out there to worry about.
I love the reaction from people when they see it. You'd think it came from an alien planet.
Been using a Treo 755P since 12/07. Finally got the nerve to turn off my trusty 7135. Restored the JackFlashed ROM with the Original Alltel ROM. LIKE NEW CONDITION. LOTS of extras.
See the sale info in the Garage Sale Section

Well after all these years I've moved on. A few weeks ago Verizon quit recognizing my 7135 and refused to let me activate another one. Basically told me I've been stealing service all the years I've had the MOU plan and that I should now pay three times as much. Farewell my old friend.
Everyone, please reply once only - let's see how many of us there are still using the 7135. Maybe it will come in handy by proving how large a niche market we are....
LG, Palm, do you guys monitor this site at all??
Anyway,
Proud Alltel 7135 user since Sept 2004. On phone#2, expecting it to last at least 1-1 1/2 years.

Thkx & Happy holidays-Funny you should ask-(Very Newb-Just joined 5 min ago). Yesterday went U S Cell to drop monthly allocation of shiney rocks & sticks. i don' visit to often. When I set my phone on counter the gal
looked at it like it was an old Holy Grail. Then she called over another clerk
and they both continued their ohh & ahh. I cracked up!( but only for a moment when I realized both clerks were starting to be amazed the phone's owner was still operating as well!)
Yes my 7135 getting sort of long in the tooth but still keeps on keeping on.
What a great site. Enuf info keep me reading till' next years Chimmny Hop!
Bought mine in '03 or '04 can't remember. Was traveling a lot @ time.
Gone thru about 8 batteries but that's it. Still sync it via usb and have gone thru scares. Dropped it in salt water, at my boat slip 3 years ago, I thought that would be IT!
It floated, because the leather cover was on, grabbed it up and rinsed in fresh water within 30 seconds. Took it home, took it apart, and sprayed Everything with electric contact cleaner. The battery was toast but put in a new one and it started like normal.
I was sold. Bought a few junkers on Ebay and have never used a part yet!
Gone thru the Verizon change over, no sweat.
All phones should be as durable!
Luck to 'yoall' 7135ers.
