Question phone warranty?

The Kyo died, so I have to get a new phone (don't hate). My question is, can I buy say a Samsung i730 off of Ebay, activate it with Verizon, and still get their monthly extended warranty plan in case it ever dies (like my beloved Kyo)?

I didn't get any extended warranty with this current phone, so I think I'm SOL. So how does everyone else keep getting Treos offered to them?

Ok, so that was two questions, but thanks for the help!

Cool

Don't despair, you might not have to put out any $$$ for a new phone.

My 7135 earpiece died last month. It was a little over 2 years old, no warranty. Someone on this list had recommending calling the data tech guys at Verizon. (866) 788-9387, option 2, 3x. They were great. (I had called customer service 1st and even went to the Verizon store — don't bother.) I got a new phone (Treo 650) in the mail the next week, for free.

Miss my old 7135, but am enjoying playing w/the new bells and whistles on the 650. (And it's nice to have a working phone again.)

I just may have to do that. Would they consider giving me a credit for the 650 so that i could get the samsung you think?

Who knows? I think they've only been replacing w/650s, but it can't hurt to ask, right?
