how do you view a file on the sd card?

I installed a couple of pictures on the SD card with my card reader and I go into photo suite on the phone and nothing shows up.

Worse than that I go to the card on my phone and it shows like there is nothing on the card. It doesn't see anything on the card and I know the pictures are there.
How do you "see" stuff on the card when its in your phone??

thanks

To see the folders and a list of files on your SD card you can use the built in application FileManager. There are better freeware/shareware ones, such as FileZ which I use.

There are two image viewer that come with the 7135: PhotoSuite and PhotoView.

Photosuite can only display images that are stored in internal memory. I think you have to convert them first on a PC (or using Photoview on the 7135).

Photoview can display .jpg files located in the DCIM directory on the SD card.

Both are pretty lousy, but are included free on the 7135 CD.

Make sure your photos are in the \DCIM folder on the card. Many photo apps will look only there for the photos. I recommend you try Splash Photo or AcidImage as an alternative image viewer. You can also view image files in any folder.

I believe PhotoSuite looks in the Palm\Launcher directory. If there are a lot of files in there, it will slow the launcher down on the 7135.

PhotoSuite is a pile of poo. I recommend AcidImage. You can put images anywhere you want on the card and that program will find them.

Could you e-mail me that app??
If I get this app AcidImage you are telling me I can just load the card up with pictures with my card reader and then just stick the card in the phone, click on the AcidImage icon and boom I see the picture??

AcidImage is not free. You can download it from http://www.red-mercury.com. Once you install it and run it with pictures on your card, you'll see how it works. It's a very nice piece of software.

As indicated in a previous post, PhotoSuite will not display JPGs and will not display images stored on the SD card. Also, it does not display the whole picture. PhotoView will display JPGs in either internal or SD memory, and does display the whole picture. However, it is very slow and I had a lot of trouble with it hanging up in the middle of loading an image. I bought AcidImage and deleted PhotoView. You cannot delete PhotoSuite as it in the 7135 ROM.

Actually Photo suite can display photos stored on the SD card, but as Silvrdrgn points out they are in the \Palm\Launcher folder. And Photosuite requires the photos to be converted to a PDB file.... Its a pain. Try out Acid image.. its much better.
