Well, I've had my trusty 7135 for over 2 yrs w/ only 1 hard reset. This phone has been SOLID! I am w/ Verizon, and because of their new data plan charges (non MOU) I have not migrated to the Treo 650 (or other phone) yet.
This brings me to my current issue ...which I've not been able to locate others' similar issues, via Search. I have filled a 256mb card and have purchased a 1GB card. How do I go about transfering files/folders/etc. to the new card? I haven't been able to locate this info anywhere. If you can help, ...PLEASE do!
I tried this w/ my Sandisk Cruzer, but got an error when trying to copy from my PC back to the new card. Have you actually done it in this simple a fashion? Any other ideas?
Well, I tried again, on my ofice PC, to transfer the files from my 256mb card to my new 1gb card.
-formatted new card in 7135
(Palm Filemanager "sees" card and indicates a "PALM" folder
has been created on the card.)
-copied folders from 256mb card to folder on my desktop
(PALM, AUDIP, DCIM)
-tried to drag & drop folders from desktop folder to 1gb card in my Sandisk Cruzer.
---> I get this message (in an error box):
"Error Copying File or Folder
Cannot create or replace AUDIO: Cannot find the specified
file. Make sure you specify the correct path & filename."
Anone have any ideas on what's happening, or what I'm doing wrong?
Perhaps try formatting the new card with the Panasonic SD card formatter program. It's specifically designed for that purpose. You can download it from this LINK
Tried this Panasonic formatting app ....got the same error message:
"Error Copying File or Folder
Cannot create or replace AUDIO: Cannot find the specified
file. Make sure you specify the correct path & filename."
Has anyone actually DONE this, or do I need to recreate, from scratch, my card's file structure? Is it really THAT easy ....simply drag-n-drop files from the 1st card into a folder on my PC ....and then drag-n-drop the files from the PC onto the 2nd / NEW card? What am I doing wrong...any guesses?
Yes, it really should be that easy as drag and drop. Check the Lock switch on the side of the card. If it's in the right position (not locked), then I think your card is bad.
And IF it WAS locked, be sure to check your phone out.
If it let you format the card with it locked, the phone may have a damaged contact or some other issue that lets your phone think that all cards are unlocked.
That could cause other problems for you in the future.
Not to be too simple about this but did you try creating the AUDIO folder on the card then opening the AUDIO folder on your HDD and coping the individual files instead of the folder?
Just another idea knowing how finicky these things can be.

BTW. I just upgraded my 256mb card to a 1G card about a month ago. It really was as simple as they describe it. Although, I don't think I formatted the card in the phone.
