I have not heard of this problem. It is interesting to note that whatever kind of reset it is performing must be different than a normal "soft" or "hard" reset. A normal soft reset does not change any preferences. A hard reset wipes out everything, including data and preference settings. You seem to have something in between.

i looked more closely and the screen that comes up is "first time set up" screen. It has me touch all over the scrren and pad with the styles.

Are you installing new ringtones each time you sync?

i had this problem too. pushing the reset button after hotsyncing erased everything that i had just done. one time instead of pushing the reset button i just clicked on something in the background and i didn't have to reset. i'm not sure why this happens but this is what worked for me several times.

Maybe your sync preferences are not set correctly on your PC, causing the desktop to overwrite your prefernces (incl "Don't show again") each time you sync.

I sync at home, not here...does anyone have the correct desktop settings to prevent overwriting the handheld prefs??
