How to mount 7135 in my car?

Hey all,

Looking for ideas of how to mount this odd sized phone in my vehicle? Id like it to be available when driving (open) Wondering if there is a generic holder or mount out there anyone knows of that works well

thanks

Proclip mount was what I used

I used the two part solution from proclipusa for my 7135 in my 03 Infiniti G35 Sedan. You buy one piece that is car specific (vehicle mount) and one piece that is phone specific (device holder). Between the two pieces it was like $60-80. This was the easiest install and professional looking device I could find. I still have the tilt and swivel device holder for the Kyo 7135 that I would part with cheaply. PM me if you have any other questions. Also, if you have an '03 G35 Sedan, I have the bottom piece too. I replaced my Kyo for a Treo 650, and bought the new device holder for the Treo, and kept th eold vehicle mount. But I also just got rid of my '03 G35 Sedan and had to buy a new vehicle mount for my new 05 G35x Sedan. I would go with no other solution. proclipusa.com

I have no connection with proclip, other than being a very satisfied and repeat customer.

I have just fitted my 7135 into my vehicle. I have modified a 6035 cradle using a small die grinder, I saw a post where someone used a knife. Then I removed the outer casing of the car kit plug that fits into the phone. After removing all the inners from the 6035 cradle I then I made a small metal C type plate, took me a few tries to get it right, and fitted that plug into my 6035 cradle, screwed the cradle back togeather, fixed the cradle to the dash with double sided tape, and pluged the 7135 car kit in. I can now just drop the 7135 into the 6035 cradle and hey presto.

I too made a cradle. I created mine by tracing the outline of the phone and hands free connector onto some quarter inch plexiglass plastic. Black plastic with the crinkle finish looks pretty good (I sure like the scrap bin at Tap Plastic). I then mounted the hands free connector onto the plexiglass with the aid of some shims. And attached some side pieces to help hold the phone on the sides. The whole assembly is attached to my dash with a 6 inch goose neck extension used for microphones (that was the most expensive part @$10) I now have a pretty good looking phone cradle that is tied in with my hands free (like I had with my old Nokia). so when I drop it in the cradle and I'm talking hands free!

I purchased an inexpensive OEM belt clip off of eBay -- cost about $5. I then found a very thin piece of metal and drilled two holes through it and fastened the screws to the belt clip clamp. The metal length I used is thin enough to slide between the cracks in the dash of my car where the dash meets the section by the glove box. I bent the metal piece so that the clip sits on an angle. The phone can stay open and the belt clip holds the phone nicely so that is doesn't fall out. To make sure that the metal piece stays put in the dash, I glued a piece of velcro to it, so that when I slide it into the dash, there is a stronger friction fit. I've used this mount for about 2 years and it is flawless. I also take the charger cord and use the belt clip clamp to hold it in place behind the phone so that the wires hang out of site. For using the phone, I made the "poor mans" car kit using a CoolCat adapter wired to a mic that I fastened to the chicken bar above the driver's door, with a line-out going to my stereo. I can listen to MP3s over the stereo, and if a call comes in, the song pauses, and the call announcement is played and I can use the voice recognition to answer the call -- a little safer than reaching for the phone.
