my user file got corrupted in my palm desktop for my 7135 so I setup a new one, but the smartphone keeps trying to send it to the old one - how do I get the phone to send to the new user. I deleted the old one but it keeps wanting to re-create it.

Well, try to copy this software to a SD card and then run it. This software allows you to change/delete user namd and user id on the palm itself. Once you've done, hot sync to the desktop and all the data should go to a new folder.
