Palm Web Pro not working

I have been using Palm web pro v 1.01 for awhile now, but today it stopped working. When activating the browser, will see the "signing on" then "established" then get a Web Pro error message

DNS error. Please check coverage, check that the Host Address in Preference is correct, then try again.

Looked in the Web Pro Preference section Advanced tab, and I see the Host Address is webpro.Palm.com

Help, anyone?

I feel your pain. I found it to stop working last night. EIS browser is working so I figure that webpro.palm.com must be down. If I remember correctly this happened about a year ago and it came back up a day or two later. I also seem to remember it went down on a Friday and back up on Monday...

Thanks, I thought that might be the reason, but posted when I didn't see anyone else report this problem. Now I have to use that lousy EIS.....

DOH!! the same thing happened to me yesterday and I didn't know what to do. I googled the DNS error and all I could find were issues related to bluetooth connections.

SOoOo I ended up downloading and installing the trial of XIINO... but within a day's use... I ended up liking it so much I just decided to purchase it since I found a 20% off coupon for handango... it's not WORLDS better than Web Pro, but it IS nicer... oh well...

thaibruin, what are the good/bad on webpro vs Xiino?

The problem described in this old thread regarding the use of Web Pro is back. However, it has not recovered during the last several days, and I get the same result using the EIS web browser. Any ideas?

This is an update to my previous post. While I still am occasionally unable to connect to the server with either Web Pro or the EIS browser, the links in the EIS browser work most of the time, while the links in Web Pro never work (DNS error. Please check coverage, check that the Host Address in Preference is correct, then try again.).

Unhappy BAD NEWS

Palm discontinued the default web proxy for the older WebPro 1.x, WebPro 2.0, and nWeb Palm OS web browsers. Palm simply says the "WebPro and nWeb proxy technology has reached the end of its useful life and cannot be upgraded. See Palm Discontinues the WebPro Browser Proxy

Thanks for the feedback. I guess I will use the EIS browser until the 7135 gets so flaky I am forced to a new phone and high-speed internet.
