Just became the owner of a 7135, but not sure if its right for me, especially since when i tried to call US Cellular to find out about how to get on the web, they said it wasnt available. thats 50% of the smartphone! if anyone can help with a separate web service or anything else please let me know. thanks
I'm using a 7135 on US Cellular. I had an LG VX6000 with Easy Edge and Picture Messaging. I then switched to the 7135. My 7135 works great for web browsing, email, etc.
the problem is, i bought it off of ebay, and even though there was no problem switching the service, all of the settings say blahblahblah@vzw.com which leads me to believe this phone used to be verizon. can i still put on easyedge?

Do you have to pay by the KB for easyedge? How's the performance for this? I just got a 7135 and would really like to use the web functions. Thanks.
Hi there - I have easy edge with pic messaging - and I can't seem to get online. I can get as far as connected, but then none of the sites are available. Any ideas? Perhaps I need to adjust my network settings? I can get to the programming etc. Would anyone mind letting me know what your network settings are (for US CELLULAR)? It could help me trouble shoot. Any idea or help would be soooo appreciated.
Thanks!

I have my 7135 off of my account temporarily as I have a new one coming from insurance....I expect it'll be a week or two before I can mess around with it again. I had the same problem trying to establish net access, though ....the phone actually established a data connection but for some reason it could not find the sites. Surely it must be some simple adjustment to some setting??? Hopefully someone has the answer. It would be a huge victory for many of us who just want to get this phone on the net.
Thanks for the info. I have my PDA Prefs - Network Settings as mentioned:
UserName:9181234567@uscc.net (where 1234567 is my phone #)
Password:9181234567 (which is my phone number)
Connection: Wireless Modem
Phone: #777
I can "connect" - but then any website "cannot be found"
So, I am wondering if someone would mind to share more "settings" with me - such as when you are at the Network Preferences and you choose the "DETAILS" option (bottom left) what are those settings?
Connection Type:
Idle Timeout:
Query DNS: (is it checked or not?) If not:
Primary DNS:
Secondary DNS:
IP Address: Automatic (is it checked or not) If not:
what is the IP address?
Thanks so much!

I am paying a flat $9.95 unlimited Easy Edge with Pic Messaging on the pay as you go plan (my USCC Rep recommended to do it this way since I won't ever actually "use" the pic messaging).

OK - this may be helpful or just another confusing bit of info. I called my USCC Rep to see - for sure - that I have EE w/ pic msg. He said I have Easy Edge AND Pic Messaging. He told me in 2004 they had Easy Edge WITH Pic Messaging - but, when the Picture Phones became more popluar they split the services to give us more options (code for: "another thing to pay for" - just my opinion).
I asked him to just put me on the "old" plan. Guess what? NLA. He said the code that they place in our account to give us access to the services was not even an option in the system.
So, my question for the forum readers/submitters is - WHAT is your experience. Do you have internet access on your USCC 7135? If so do you have Easy Edge WITH Pic Messaging or Easy Edge AND Pic Messaging?
Just a thought that my prob is not the programming on my end, but on the service end w/ USCC.
All insight is appreciated.
Thanks!

Although it may be slooooowwww, i use the 20 hours of "back up" dial up that comes with my BellSouth DSL account. It is free and does just fine for the occasional google search to find an address or phone number. I can also send & receive e-mail, generally on free night/weekend minutes. I tell it to get my mail & just lay the phone down 'till it's done.
The data plans from Verizon just aren't worth it in the day of free WiFi at coffee shops (my laptop is usually close by if i'm not near home).
