i bought a verizon "branded" 7135 off of ebay and i should be reciving it in a couple of days AND will be activating it with alltel service. what am i to expect from this outcome. the alltel webpage is selling 7135's and they say they will activate any CDMA phone from any wirless carrier. what will i need to do when i get this phone?

i am using alltel network because i saddly decided to sign a contract with them. i bought the V7 flasher and i am tired of this piece of SSSSSSS!!!!

nobody can help? im expecting the worst from this one!!

i talked to an alltel agent today, she said that they are not supposed to be able to allow vreizon network phones be activated because of dropped calls, roaming, and what not. its a shame. i am going to go to another alltel store and talk to them. see if they will flash the device and put "their" software in it to fix the issue. but i need to hide the verizon evidence. and say i bought it as an unlabled model so they wont be strict with the no verizon phone rule.

has anyone had this issue and if so how did the problem get solved?

I would not bring your phone *anywhere near* an ALLTEL agent. Specifically, I would not recommend flashing the phone unless you want to be using Graffiti 2 rather than the original Graffiti.

Instead, make a landline call into the toll-free tech support (800-ALLTEL1) and indicate that you need to activate a Kyocera 7135 that you just bought secondhand. Don't make a big deal about how it was branded with Verizon logos, just give the rep your ESN and he or she will walk you through the carrier-specific programming (it's simple -- I did it several months ago). Make sure that you are listed as a data customer on your ALLTEL account so that you can digitally roam on other CDMA carriers' towers. Once you have made that call, you'll need to download the current preferred roaming list (PRL) over the air by pressing "2" after dialing either *22800 or *22801 depending on whether ALLTEL is your local A side or B side carrier respectively (usually B side). After that, you should be in business.

ok i got my "verizon branded" 7135. i am charging the battery now. next i will go into programming mode and setup the alltel network settings by copy the settings from my other phone. when i dial 611 and get the alltel network i will be in succes and all i will need to do is activate it!!! YAY

can you remember the steps to program the phone alltel gave you?

type in 111111 on the phone, scroll to options, scroll to programming, tap on 000000, change phone number to your number, change aKey to be blank, home SID 152, directory No, your number. save and exit, call alltel and give them your ESN

than dial up to update youe PRL, and your done.
