Please HELP-touchscreen inactive-Help

Please Help, i have a 7135 with an inactive touch screen. When i turn the phone on it comes up with the screen that wants me to touch different areas of the screen to "set up" the unit, Usually i follow along and touch the 4 or 5 different areas and it comes on, NOW however it won't react when it asks me to "touch anywhere" SO i can't get past the begining which also means that i can't use any other part of the phone or palm features. To give you some background i had the phone charging in the cradle with a spare battery also in the slot for the extra battery and then i used it with the speaker phone and then put it back and ever since after i removed it from the cradle it won't let me past the inital screen, the touch areas are not working.

Please Help if you have any idea's.Also i bought and have not used another battery, it's not a Kyocera but it is for the 7135.I also bought a new face plate for it and have installed that (after i figured out how to get the old one off)

thanks for reading.

Try doing a hard reset on it. Hold the backlight button and press/release the reset button in the battery compartment. Keep holding the backlight button until the Palm logo shows on the screen. Then release it. Press the up button when it asks you to.

thanks for the info, i found out however that after changing my faceplate to an aftermarket one, although they look the same the new is a bit more shallow on the back so when i put it on it was just too tight, i relieved the pressure and then it worked, so i tookk the new cover off and shaved it down a bit in the back and boom it worked and is still working just fine......thanks again VERY much for your respone, i am just a Rookie with this phone and i appreciated your time and effort.
