Datebook Alarm Doesn't Work

Hey All,

So my new 7135 is wonderful...but my most used feature appears hosed....

1) Yes the alarm is set (and day and time are correct)
2) Yes the alarm volume is on high

There is no visual or audible alert..plain and simple.

I jjuts got off with Kyocera support....no known issues....even did a hard reset to make 'em happy....still no workie...

This issue was on my original phone as well....bought it last weekend...had adead pixel...replaced it yesterday....so 2 phones...same issue.

Any ideas?

Could it be carrier related? I'm on Telus Mobility

Has anyone else had this problem?

Should I just try another Datebook app and ditch the Kyocera flavoured one?

Any help is greatly appreciated

Cheers

No suggestions but...
No, not carrier related. That's entirely on the Palm side.
No, I don't think anybody else has had that problem.

I would very much suspect a configuration problem. Carefully go through the Palm preference settings/options and then the Datebook settings/options. If you want a *very* much enhanced datebook app that uses the builtin palm databases I would recommend Datebk5. IMHO it can't be beat.

Settings Check

Hey Quick,

I figured...but it's grasping at straws time

Perhaps you can fire up your alarm settings and mabye I'll see something I'm missing....

Here's mine:

1) alarm is preset by default
2) set to repeat 3 times in 5 minute intervals
3) an audible alarm is set (dog bark)
4) System Sound is off (but I don't get visual alarms either)
5) Alarm Sound is on high
6) Not is silent mode (again...no visual alert...so this should not matter)

Those are the only settings that I would think could effect the alarm....but Kyocera has implemented a few thinigs a bit off from the standard Palm interface...so I could be missing something.

BTW...where can I get DateBook 5?

Cheers

I was going to suggest that it's possibly in Silent Mode, but you've checked that as you say.

DateBk5 can be found at http://www.pimlicosoftware.com.
