PLS HELP!? New 7135 with Glitches

Hi all,
After waiting a week i finally got my kyocera 7135 from ebay today. Looked to be in really good condition, 105 calls made on it, only the thing constantly freezes up, requing me to do a soft reset. The frustrating part is that it will work fine, play mp3s, launch apps, ect all for maybe a few minutes, but eventualy the whole thing will freeze. Most times too, when I go to use the keypad, or the down arrow, sometimes it will freeze then. Also, it will freeze during resets too, just showing the palm screen or a fatal exception. Im using a brand new battery, and 512 sd card for mp3s. I just dont get it. It will work fine for a while, then bam, froze. Should i look into something like QuickBits? Is it possible the cpu is going?I checked, its the most recent firmware and software on the phone. No programs have been installed. Im lost. Any ideas?Ive searched around the foums and other people seem to describing the same thing, only with no solution.

Check the battery contacts first. Make sure they are clean and making good contact. If those are OK, and it still freezes after a hard reset (with nothing extra loaded on it), then I would say it has a hardware problem.

Loading Quick bits won't solve anything if the phone is locking up before installing anything. I reiterate Slvrdrgn's suggestion to check the battery contacts. Bend them out a little so they make better contact. I recall one post where the phones battery contacts were making slight contact then any keypress can flex case and cause the battery to lose contact resulting in a freeze. Otherwise you may havea bad phone. If you with Vzw they may replace it for you even though you didn't buy it from them.

BTW welcome to the forum!

Thanx much for your help guys. I defenetly think its something with the battery terminals. On the cradle, the phone works PERFECTLY. I bent them up more, and will see how this works.
Cheers-

UPDATE:
The phone now will freeze if its playing mp3s and u shut the case. acts the same on battery as it does on AC cord. If i do a soft reset, and do not make contact soon enough with the stylus, it shuts off completely. I think it has to be something with the battery connection maybe, because when its on the cradle not moving, its fine. Also, sometimes when I put the battery conver back on it freezes up, assumably from the snap. I cleaned the terminals with an eraser, and bent each one up a little. I am running out of ideas. The phone acts like it has a short somewhere, with any handling it shuts off. Any suggestions?

I recall a poster mentioning that they found some corrosion or something inside the case where the battery contacts meet the PCB. Not sure if your brave enough to open up your phone and take a look, it should be fairly simple. the case is held shut by only four small torx screws.

I would but i dont think i have a torx wrench that small and to be honest, i am just starting to think its just broke. I did a crash reset and still for some reason refuses to not crash. And for somereason, after doing several hard resets, there is still remenents of old stuff on there when syncing up. I e-mailed the whom i got it from ebay, hopefully i can return it. Thanx many for all ideas.
Gracci-

Contact your cellular provider. Maybe they can offer you a replacement even though you didn't buy it from them. Some people here have had good luck trying/doing that.
