Freezing when connecting to internet

Hi,

I just upgraded from the 6035 to the 7135 (great new phone) but everything I try to sign onto the internet, the phone freezes while "initalizing".

All the settings appear fine (or the same as the other phone).

- I am using a normal CDMA connection (not 1X).
- Ive tried a hard reset
- Phone Software version MZ1.0.44
- PDA Software version SZ 1.0.29

This occurs in ESI Web, EudoraWeb and Eudora Mail.

One thing that caught my eye is that under Phone Info it displays a different number than what the phone actually is.

Also calls to and from the phone are fine.

Thanks for your help, Jim.

I figured it out. I had the modem device set to "Wireless Modem". I changed it to "Standard Modem" and it works fine.

Well it signs on then PPP times out. I am presuming it is a login script error (For the Telstra AUS) which I will check with my 6035 settings.

Well, the 6035 was set to Wireless modem, so I matched all the settings to the same on my 7135 and it just freezes while initalizing the connection. It doesnt even get to 'signing on'.

Any ideas?

hmmm. Mine is set to wireless modem. What are all your connections settings (pda prefs>network) Can you get a connection from the network settings screen without running any browsers?

No, the freeze also occurs there.

The settings are as follows:

NETWORK
Service: QNC
Username: qncuser
Password: set
Connection: Custom
Phone: #777

Connection Type: PPP
Idle Timeout: Never
Query DNS: Yes
IP Address Automatic: Yes

Script:
End

CONNECTION:
Name: Custom
Connect to: Modem
Via: Wireless
Dialing: TouchTone
Volume: Off

Speed: 19,200 bps
Flow Ctl: Automatic
Init String: Blank

These are identical to my 6035 which connects fine.

If I change the "Via: Wireless" to "Via: Serial" then the phone doesnt freeze and gets to the signing on (Negotiating) state. However I then get the PPP timeout (0x1231). The log is as follows:

LCP->CfgReq
LCP->CfgReq
LCP->CfgReq
LCP->CfgReq
LCP->CfgReq
LCP->CfgReq
LCP->CfgReq
LCP->CfgReq
LCP Timeout
