I bought my 7135 on ebay without a data cable. It's on order but taking it's time and I'm itching to install some software. I've loaded mp3's from my computer to the Audio folder on my sd card and that works fine. I can't figure out where to put photos - they won't show up anywhere I put them. They have a .jpg extension, not a .jpeg.
Is it possible to load apps manually by transfering them from the sd card? If so, where do I put them? Thanks a bunch! Kim
Where you put images on the card depends on what software you are trying to use to view them? What viewer program are you using?
You can put apps pretty much anywhere on the card you want, but typically they go in the Palm\Launcher directory or somewhere under Palm\Programs. Then use a file manager program, like FileZ, to move the application from the card to main memory.
Right now I'm using the PhotoSuite software that came with the 7135. I have put images in many different folders and created some of my own and they still do not show up at all on the pda. Thanks for taking the time to reply! Kim
The photsuite app that came with the phone will only display photos that have first been converted with the desktop app. I recommend you use Acid Image to view the pics in thier native format. And you can put the photos just about anywhere. I beleive Acid Image defaults to viewing them in the \DCIM folder so it matches how most digital cameras store their pics.

You can use PhotoView to view photos in jpg format. PhotoView comes on the 7135 CD.
It's kinda dumb that PhotoView isn't installed by default, while PhotoSuite, which needs you to install the desktop part before you can download and view photos, is.
Yeah but, Photoview is slow as molasses decompressing the jpgs... Splashphoto or AcidImage works much better.
And photo view for some reason didn't come on all revs of the CD for example MINE!

you will have to buy the disc from kyocera for 10.00 including shipping. I know I paid more for shipping then the actual disk even on the cheapest plan. It can't be downloaded for free since it (and the others on the disc) are 3rd party licensed applications. See if you have any friends with the phone---
