Having MANY problems with my phone... HELP :-(

Hi... im new here so first of all I would like to say hello to everyone...

Here is my problem. My 7135 crashes constantly (like 5 times a day) and sometimes when I soft reset it, the PALM POWERED logo appears and suddenly, the screen turns black and the image white (like a negative image)... I have to reset it many times to make it work again.. and of course when I soft-reset it many times, I loose my info (the "routine manteniance in progress" message appears)

I already checked my phone software version and it is the latest. I dont know what to do... the phone even crashes when it is completely clean... I get all kind of errors... fatal error, memory something... ptrsomething... etc...

What can I do? is there maybe something or some default option that makes the phone crash? should I take it to manteniance so that they check everything is fine inside the phone???

Thanks in advance...

mine is basically doing the same thing. I just got the phone as well and I am resetting virtually after everything I do. I would take it to a repair tech or call kyocera and maybe send it in to them

The same thing happened to my last 7135. It was a bad memory module. Kyocera diagnosed it off the bat with one phone call.

Is it possible to get the memory module replaced, and not the whole phone?

I bet replacing parts would cost more then just buying a new one. Small technology is not like cars, when small tech breaks most of the time it cost less just to buy a new one. Not like it's cheap or anything, just cheaper. Check online. I've seen 7135's for 199 new! or ebay, that is where I bought my 7135. No dings. looks amazing and I got it for 149, no plan. Good luck!

do a hard reset
and then delete your back up folder from your username folder (which is located inyour palm folder)

then load on the applications one by one to see which one causes the error then obviously dont use that application

if you continusly still have these problems go to your SP and get a software reflash

also make sure your software revisions are

mz 1.0.44
sz 1.0.29

Thanks for the replies...

dxspip, the phone crashes with or without software... Even if I do a hard reset and I dont load any software, it crashes... I have noticed it crashes most of the time when im trying to access a phone option from the phone app menu (for example, when trying to access recent calls)...

My SP is completely ignorant about this phone since they didnt sell many, so I downloaded the Kyocera Wireless PST, the problem is that the phone´s code is not 000000 and my SP wont tell me what is the code (I dont know if they even know it)...

Still, my phone is running the latest software revision... I want to flash it just to make sure that ROM isnt corrupted or something...

try using the code 6 1's

they sometimes leave the factory with that default if its a refurbished phone

you will however need to get the correct software for the phone and the pda....for it to be re flashed

PJ - Stop wasting your time - it's hosed, dude.
KWPST won't help you here.
Oh - and your SP ABSOLUTELY knows the code. You wouldn't have been activated without it.

Now, you obviously ran a lot of apps - were any of them overclockers? If so, that may be the place to start. Now, I realise I'm making an assumption here - that before you loaded all of these apps, it was OK - or you couldn't have goten them all loaded, right?

Many of the ppl in this forum have run overclockers with great success. I wasn't so lucky. The dragonball CPU in these things is nowhere near bullet-proof - nor is it very forgiving. When mine got over being forgiving - my smartphone acted just as you describe...

Now, if you WERE running an overclocker - and there are obvious reasons to do this - run Quickbits instead. Not only does it NOT overheat the cpu (and drain the battery even quicker), it gives better results.

Hash

BTW - what ver KWPST do you have? Mine is v3.3.46 - which should be rather dated by now...

PS: If you are REALLY dedicated to pursuing this - I can prob'ly get you a PDA board... but you might REALLY want to consider buying another phone from eBay or other sources. There won't be much price difference.

Thanks for the replies Hash

I do run a lot of apps... but none of them are hacks or overclocking utilities... I didnt knew you could overclock the phone haha...

BTW my PST says Ver 3.2 Build 7... it must be very old since it says (c) Kyocera 2001...

The problem I have is that replacing the phone is a pain over here. Im in Bogotá, Colombia and this were not very popular phones(my SP is not selling them any more). I could always get one at Ebay, but I would have to go to the US and im not planning a trip in the near future

Sounds like your best bet.
Ask the seller - many of them *will* do international ship... if you ask.
It's worth a shot.

I heard that Verizon was selling the phones for 100.00 or something like that. Check the website.
