external clock (in LCD area) has disappeared

My Kyo used to show the time in the external LCD display panel. It's stopped showing that and I don't know why. There's nothing I can find in the manual.

Does anyone have any suggections?

Quick question... Are the power bars and battery status still displayed? If not, the display ribbon cable inside may be the problem. If yes, I'm stumped, but if you have a backup or are willing to reinstall your apps, a hard reset may be in order.

everything else shows normally

signal bars, battery status, even (until I changed it) the little bell with a line through it that indicates silent mode. The LCD works normally; ony the clock is missing.

I do have a backup but I'm unwilling to perform a hard reset for something trivial.

I'm hoping there's something else that can be done.

Did you recently install any FontHack fonts or other font files?

I did; then I removed FontHack. I never changed any fonts using FontHack. So... what's the solution?

Found it:
http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/showthread/t-21168.html

Delete all of your added on fonts (or just move them to your SD card). Now if you still want to use custom fonts you have to do a little work. Copy the Utah Bold Kyocera font (which is in ROM) to your SD card. Then move the copy back to your phone (this fails due to the font being readonly) and soft reset. Now you can put all of your fonts back on the phone. For some reason, the 7135 uses the first font file loaded.

I'm actually using FontBucket now so it may have been sufficient for me to just do the reset again. Apparently my problem was caused because the PalmOS stuck between Fontbucket importing the fonts and deleting them (probably because FontHack was enabled) and I had to reset. So there were other fonts onboard when it booted. Ouch.
