Well after 7 months of perfect performance since brand new, my 7135 developed a short in the base of the phone, and the slightest bump or jar will cause the entire phone to blackout, just as if you removed the battery.
I can always do a soft/hard reset, and it will always come back on with all of the apps working perfectly, however the phone just will not stay on, even closing the flip after a call is sometimes enough of a jar to cause the entire phone to go black.
Verizon is sending me another one Monday, my question is can I use my SD card backup from the old phone to the new one? Will it restore the new phone with all of my apps without any problems?
BTW, I love the cool feature that Verizon has on their website, I was able to de-activate my 7135 and re-activate myself, my old 6035 (which still works flawlessly) via the web and in about 30 seconds I was able to make and receive calls.

I have had my phone almost 3 years and have had 4 7135's 2 under warranty and 2 under insurance. Verizon has been very good in getting them to me overnight. I finally got smart and used the backup card to restore my phones.
ANyone have the proper sequence for moving archived data ...phonebook and calendar... from one computer (I have an old version of Outlook contacts on a laptop) to a new computer and phone? I would like to import file into desktop fro 7135 from Handspring visor desktop or the palm user folder.
i would rather just restore your contact info (PIM information) and manually install your 3rd party programs. in case your new phone may have different firmware than you old phone. also, you may have some corrupt files that could be lying around in your backup folder. just start with a clean slate and you will have a better trouble free life wirh the unit...

I use BackupMan and did just that when I had to replace my 7135. Backed up the old one to the SD card, put the card in the new phone, did a restore, and never skipped a beat.
Well as luck would have it, I received by new refurbished phone yesterday, and it was broke right out of the box! What the hell!! All of the functions/programs worked, but when you plugged it in, it would not charge, and the plug just wobbles around in the phone, which suggests to me that is what the original owner sent it in for. I had to use the cradle to charge the battery! My original defective 7135 (still have not sent it in yet) when plugged in was rock solid no movement at all, so I know that this is not normal.
I called Verizon, and they are sending me yet another 7135, and this time I asked their tech support to "field test" the phone before they shipped it out, and insure that EVERYTHING WORKS.
They agreed and will do this, and also send a letter in the box stating that it has passed "their" testing in lue of Kyocera's supposed testing. I hope that the second refurbished phone works.
