Question 1gb SDcard: on/off

yea, I m the lucky new owner of a 1gig Lexiar SD card
(my first card)

The phone seems to read the data just fine (although my card is still almost empty, please read my posts in this thread if you are willing to help me fill it up with mp3s thanks ).

However, sometimes when I open my phone and simply go to file manager, the card won't show up! I have to pop it out of the phone and push it back in for the phone to start 'seeing' the card again.
quite inconvenient..

after playing around all afternoon to find out what could cause this, I figured that if I exit the file manager app with the card tab on, everything is fine. But if I exit file manager on the internal tab: the sd card won't show up after closing and re-opening the 7135...

I hope I m not being to confusing in my explainations.
any suggestion on what could cause this problem?
should I backup and reformat the card? can I reformat using the phone or should I do it with the PC? what formating option is best for this phone?
I m running the outdated m36/s23, could that be related?

thanks!

Yes, you should format the card while it's installed in your 7135. Use the "Card Info" application to do it.

Or you can download, install and use the Panasonic SD formatter utility at this LINK on your Win-DOHS personal computer. Obviously, you need to have a card reader/writer in order to connect the card to your PC.

Are you sure it's fully inserted in the slot? And then are you sure you haven't "clicked" it when you close the rubber cover?
