Unhappy Kyocera 7135 Graffiti - Some letters aren't recognized

I've went from a PalmIII to a Smartphone 6035 to now a Smartphone 7135 have loved them all. I bought this one used and have noticed that there are a few characters it won't rcognize via the graffiti pad. T , I , K , V all the rest seem to work just fine.

My question is..... does anyone know of a way to retrain the graffiti pad to recognize these characters???????

Thanks for the help.

Sounds like you've run into the Graffiti2. New 7135 firmwares have Graffiti2 instead of regular Graffiti due to a patent dispute. Here is a linke with info: http://www.palmone.com/us/support/graffiti2/

I've been pretty bad and haven't retrained myself since I swapped my 7135 to a new one with Graffiti2. (I didn't want to switch to Graffiti2 but my old phone died.)

If do a search on the forum, adventurous users will talk about how you might be able to install the old Graffiti. Other routes would be to use third party software. Seems like Teal Script might help.

Glad to help and welcome to our shrinking family of users. Many of us followed a similar path - I had a 6035 for a couple of years before getting a 7135.

I'm sure you'll find this forum a great resource as you explore the undocumented idiosyncrasies. This forum doesn't get the traffic it used to when the 7135 was the hot new product but you'll find answers to nearly everything about the phone in the archives from users far more knowledgeable about the phone than I am.

Try a program like Tealscript. It allows you to custom create letters to your own writing style.
