Is there a version of yahoo messanger that will use text messages instead of needing a data call?

I had a version like this on my lg vx 6000.

Yahoo messenger only uses text messages. You can get the download in Verizonwireless. Or use the search feature here.

Well .... There is a Palm native version.

However, I don't think it works to well, as in causes a hard crash during sign-in requireing a push of a little button next to the battery. Other than that it's ok

All you have to do is put the newest version of Yahoo Messenger on your computer:http://messenger.yahoo.com/
When you get the software program installed - Under the Messenger Sign in is a feature called sign into: this allows you to sign on using your phone number as your login to Yahoo messenger. Anyone that see's you online will send you a message via text messenging you can reply using text messenging too.
