I just bought a 1G card, and it just ain't working too goodly. If I put a few songs on there, it works alright, but if I fill it up like 80%, the phone either:
-freezes up
-will only recognize card if inserted prior to soft reset
-recognizes card, but then when accesing card either through CARD INFO freezes up
I finally got it to work, but when using Kyo mp3 player, there is a delay of several seconds between songs.
Should I return the card and get an IPOD?
ps - when I used a 256M card previously, everything was cool
Card reader I bought with the 1G card may be bad (both SanDisk, brand new from retailer). I'm sending them both back. I only use the mp3 player 3 or 4 times a year, so I'll stick with the 256M that works and move mp3's through the sync cradle.
I bought a Kingston 512MB card, and it wouldn't work in my phone for mp3s or in my wife's Tungsten Palm. It works in my camera fine though. G o figure.
I think it is defected since other users use the card in their 7135's with no probelm. I am sending it back for a new one. We'll see.
I purchased a Sandisk Ultra II SD card about 2 months ago. It works fine, even when almost full. I should have waited a bit as the prices are getting better.
I have over 500mb worth of mp3's, palm software, pictures, and PowerPoint presentations (synced through Docs to Go) on a 1gb Lexar Media SD card. I have no real trouble with it other than the fact that it takes forever to sync through the cradle or update my playlists. Performance is exactly what i expected.

You may have some kind of corruption in the cards format. I would try reformating the card either in the phone or you SD device and see if that has any effect. Make sure you copy any info off the card you need to keep before you reformat as that will erase all data. Just thought I would mention that.

Luck is where opportunity meets preparation.
The time it takes to browse a directory using FileZ or Kyocera's built-in card manager (~1 minute) takes a little bit longer if my 1GB ATP 60x is filled near capacity, and it takes a while for Bebopper to build a directory of over 200 mp3 files I have loaded up.
But once that ordeal is done, operation is flawless, and there is no notable delay between songs.
Memory speed does seem to make a difference in these types operations.
Thanks everyone.
I returned the 1G aleady. I formatted a few times, but didn't really help much.
I rarely use mp3 player, only when I'm away so I have tunes in my room. I have a portable dvd player I bring with me, so I'll just burn some mp3 cd's and listen that way.
