Is anyone syncing 2 phones? I keep the calendar (DateBook5) and the native contacts up to date on my 7135, and my wife would love to be able to access the info on hers.
I can beam events and contacts to hers, but never remember to get them all. I thought it might work to just sync mine to the Palm Desktop and then sync back to hers changing the conduit to "Desktop overwrites handheld". The profile is the same on both phones as I created all her data by doing a hard reset on hers and then restoring from the card in mine ((CardBkup).
Any thoughts?
Yes, actually I do something similar with my phone and Visor. Or rather I did until I started using my 7135 as my primary Palm as well. Anyway I use MS Outlook but I believe it should work as well with the Palm Desktop. Just make sure both phones have the different synching IDs. In Outlook it should create another PDA user in the Pocket Mirror folder, and in the Palm Desktop it should create another user. both phones will then be able to sync with the desktop. I think that's it but I'm sure someone will correct me if I missed something.

Well, actually, just having two usernames won't do it in the Palm Desktop, as that will leave you both with different calendars. (Though you can sync separately.) Your best bet to sync to a single calendar (and keep the rest separate) is to use a third party app to do your syncing, like iSync on the Mac or PocketMirror on the PC.
Thanks Nomad7674, I wasn't sure if it would work for the Palm desktop. But I know it works in Outlook. I've set it up for other people that want to sync thier calendars and contacts with the same profile to seperate PDAs. In that case they were also husband and wife each with thier own Visors.

My wife and I use the syncing features in Datebk5 to help us stay up to date. I set up my wife so that all new appts she creates default to the category of "To ST" (This way there is nothing to remember.... all appts she makes will be beamed). I have a category set up in mine as "To MT" (My wife). I manually select these as she doesn't care about my hectic schedule at work- just certain appts which affect her planning.
She then simply beams the entire category "To ST" to me. I have my Datebk Beam preferences set to the option of accepting all beams into "From MT" and I have it set to delete all entries before accepting. This avoids duplicates. I then beam my entire category of "To MT" to her. Hers also will delete the category she receives them into first to avoid duplicates. Since we always use the same categories for beaming the process is as automated as syncing.
Just my 2 cents on syncing two handhelds: I do it with 2 handhelds using a program called RecoX. Syncing takes place through the IR ports of the two handhelds. It works great. A little work to configure and learn. But it works flawlessly for my two handhelds. I have one I use stricktly for work, and one for home.
easiest thing is to use outlook. set 2 diff usernames and make sure u set the datebook conduit ( if she doesnt want your scedule) to do nothing. Palm desktop will mean nothing but the hotsync ID. Make sure u have 2 different userid's on each palm and sync with outlook with yours, get all the info into outlook. then sync her but making sure to change the conduit like i said above and BAM u should be good. if not make sure u have both phones with you and your PC and call kyocera
