Turning Device Off - "Device" Means Both Palm & Phone

I feel a little bit supid in asking this: But I can't figure out how to turn the 7135 off. If I hole the on/off/hangup button down, the phone turns off, but the palm stays on.

How do I power down the whole thing?

Thanks -- Vincent

As far as I can tell, there isn't a way to fully "power down" the palm side w/o pulling the battery but this isn't required. Just closing the flip or pressing the lamp button quickly (lower right on key pad) will put the palm side in stand-by and you'd be surprised on how long the battery will last with the phone side off...

In general, Palms do not 'turn off". They are put in standby. They are an instant on device that does not "boot up" unless it is reset.

That said, you can put the palm in sleep mode with the flip open with a quick press of the "light" button under the 0 key on the keypad. A long press turns off the backlight, but a quick press will turn off the palm.

Note that the phone is still on unless you had previously turned it off. Of course, as soon as you close and then open the phone again this is all moot as the palm automatically turns on (comes out of sleep) when you open the flip.

Send a message via AIM to MGuzzy

It begs the age old question: Does the light in the refergerator really turn off when the door is closed?
