Using 7135 as a modem on Windows ME

First off, there are reasons I need to use Windows ME on a particular laptop so changing OS is not an option.

I'm trying to make my 7135 work as a modem on a laptop computer that has Windows ME. I've tried both the Win98 and Win2k driver but can't get past the point where I need to select a port. Nothing is listed to select.

I know it worked on this computer before when I upgraded it to WinXP but WinXP caused to many other problems.

Thanks, Nick.

Exit hotsync manager before installing the modem. Hotsync manager is "using" the port that the modem will use.

You can check in device manager under "ports" to see which com port the cable is installed to.

Have you installed the Kyocera Modem Drivers from the 7135 CD?
Do you have a portable keyboard for your 7135? If so, disable its driver on the 7135 before using it as a modem.
