You can start a hotsync by going to the hotsync app on the phone, and selecting the on-screen button. You should also be able to fix it with a soft reset, or going to the fax/modem app and then leaving it. At least these all work for me...
I had the same problem and it turned to be a defect in the cradle. Once I got a new cradle the hot sync worked fine. I worked with Kyocera support and this was the outcome after checking everything they could think of. I believe mine was an extremely unusual case.

That won't fix it. It's a problem on the 7135, not on the desktop. Soft reset the 7135 using the reset button in the battery compartment will fix the problem.
inorder to fix this which is the EASIEST problem to fix ... click on FAX MODEM,,, once it says " ready to send" then hit yer House icon and try a sync again DO NOT unistall palm desktop, thats silly. If the fax modem doesnt work try a soft reset. NO big deal.
