still limping

Golfdog, I've tried your steps and still get no action. Does anyone know how to generate backup files from the palm desktop that I can use to transfer to the 7135 via the SD card? I used old backup files and they worked, but can't seem to generate new ones. without the sync working.

If I understand your question... I would think you could copy the backup folder from your user folder in the Palm folder to the SD card and then to your phone from there. Perhaps someone else will confirm this, but I think that folder is simply a backup of the palm files from the PDA.

MGuzzy, Yes, I have done this, but the files in my backup folder on my Powerbook were generated in a previous sync with another PDA. Not being able to Sync with the 7135 Kyocera means I haven't been putting new backup files in that folder. Is there a way to do that without doing a sync?

Thanks. JD

A little confused... If your desktop backup files are out of date then what exctly are you trying to copy over to your device?

In any respect, if you are trying to copy the other way to get fresh data onto your Powerbook then you can get a VFS backup solution like backupBuddy;VFS or CardBackup (There are free alternatives out there too. try Vfsbackup, http://www.planepla.net/vfsbackup.html)

Then you can copy them from your card to your computer (if you have a cardreader).
