replacement 7135--dumb question

I have had a 7135 since Verizon started selling them and until about a month ago, I mostly had nothing to complain about. Over the last month or so, a bubble has appeared under the screen where the stylus makes contact for the touchscreen. The bubble was small and annoying, but has grown to about the size of a dime and looks like an air pocket of some kind. Does this make sense? The spot prevents my stylus from making contact with the touch screen underneath, so that I can't press on icons, etc in that part of the screen. I am not sure what exactly caused it or if this problem is unique to my phone... Regardless, I requested a replacement phone from the insurance company for Verizon and it is on the way...now the stupid question...when it gets here, can I just synch my old phone with my computer, remove the memory card...resynch the new phone and install the memory card...and everything will all be the same?? Or will I need to redownload all of my custom rings, etc into the new phone? (good thing I saved them just in case!)
Thanks!

You should just have to sync. If you saved everything before the problem - this should not be a problem. The only thing you would have to do (I think - maybe not) is set your ringer again. Other than that it should have everything.

There's no such thing as a dumb question. Only Dumb answers.

Are you running BackupBuddy on the SD card ?
If you don't have it, you should get it.
If so, you can backup everything on the card immediately prior to switching the phone. Install the card in the new phone and do a restore.
Zip Zam Zowie and Swoosh, you're done.

When I replaced mine, I had to get a new licence number from Bebopper, but I just emailed them, told them my old licence number and old and new phone infomation, and got a new licence number no problem.

That's the only software that wouldn't work for me with the new phone right away.

Thanks for the info!

I went ahead and downloaded BackUpBuddy. Thanks for that tip! I'll instrall that before I proceed with the switch. I wish I had known about utility when my wife's CLIE went kablooey and dumped all of her saved info...before she did a synch to save it..

I'm not sure I understand, Shea. What license for what software?

Thanks!

Bebopper is a GREAT alternative program to the built-in mp3 player on the phone. Many people use it. If you listen to mp3's it might be worth a try.

FWIW, I received a replacement phone from insurance for my original 7135 that was lost. The first one sent was a refirb and was unstable for what I was doing. I requested another and asked for a brand new phone and they sent one. Brand new in box and I'm stable once again. They said it was ok that I didn't return the extra battery they give you with the refirb. Best of luck with your replacement - hope its a good one.

Usually they don't send any battery with the refurbs. I guess you got lucky.

(I should know. I'm on replacement #4).
