Kyocera Koi

My wife wants a Kyo Koi. Does anybody know if the Kyocera Phone Desktop Software that came with the 7135 is the same disk they're selling as an optional accessory for the Koi?

Apparently you need to buy a Kyo custom USB cable AND a separate software disk if you want to enter Koi phone contacts via your computer.

For those of you who don't know what a KOI is. It's a swivel phone and the only Megapixel camera phone currently supported by Verizon.

Hey There,

No, the Palm Desktop Software is for PALM PHONES or PALM Devices... also, that's not the only 1+ MegaPixel Camera supported by Verizon.

I'm not talking about the Palm Desktop Software. I'm talking about the KYOCERA SOFTWARE DISK - the same disk that has the software for making ringers.

As for the megapixel camera, I think you may be right. I think the Motorola 710 might have a megapixel camera. But it doesn't have a speakerphone. The Koi has both.

There isn't any difference. The Kyo (7135) Desktop Software is just a slightly tweaked version of the Palm Desktop Software.

All the software on that disk (that talks to the phone) is Palm specific.

The 7135 software disk you refer does not have the Kyocera Phone Desktop on it. It has Palm Desktop.

The Koi needs the Kyocera Phone Desktop, which provides contact, ringer, picture, audio, and video management.
Unless Verizon includes the cable and CD with your Koi, then you'll have to purchase it from Kyocera's Accessory store.

The Koi actually has a 1.2 megapixel camera, and about 18 megs of space to store your pictures/videos.

I've been playing around with one for about 2 weeks now, and I've been really impressed with the quality and ease of use of the camera.

Does the KOI come with the software disk or do you have to purchase it separately?

Depends what carrier you get it from. Just check with the carrier before you buy it, they should know if the cable+software CD are in the package or not.

If it doesn't come with, then its pretty easy to order from http://store.kyocera-wireless.com/pr...productID=1362
