Is there a harder than hard reset?

I think my 7135 died tonight

The screen stays completely dark after soft resets or hard resets (I am assuming I did a hard reset - can't see the screen to be sure.)

I left the battery out for 15 minutes - still dead. Plugged into charger - still dead. However in all my fooling around to revive it, the screen did sometimes light up with the Kyo screen you see on a reset - but it never went away. So there is some life somewhere in it. I can't figure out what I do differently to sometimes get that screen.

Anyway, I remember a while ago, some service tech had me do a "manufacturer reset" (not sure of the name). It was supposed to be more complete than a hard reset. But I can't remember what sequence of key presses etc constitute this "harder than hard reset".

Does anyone else know what it is?

Has anyone else had this problem?

I will call Verizon tomorrow to get my insurance replacement phone...

My 7135 is now WORKING

Joy! I have no idea why, but this afternoon, while I was waiting in line at a Verizon store, it started working again. I have no idea how or why, but I am very grateful. I hope it stays working!!!

You are right, I probably should have had them check it out, but I just started it on reloading data from my SD card backup and left.

It has now been working for 24 hours with no other bad symptoms except that I am having trouble getting one very large database reloaded. But I think this is a software problem not HW. I guess I will see what happens.

Thanks.
