Question on Verizon Service

I have been a long time lurker and followed this forum over from smartphonesource. I have to thank everyone here for asking the same questions I had and answering them too.

My 7135 has been dropped and kicked(all by accident) a few times and subsequently the plastic num of the antenna cracked. I think the signal has suffered from it too. I can tap it and the signal comes back up. I walked into the Verizon Technical support store in the mall and all they could do was give me a phone number to call. It seems the tech support centers not only don't stock parts (couldn't find the part I need at least), they don't work on them anymore. This was in the Deptford mall in New Jersey (20 minutes outside of Philadelphia)

So let me get to the question... Anyone else experience a lack of repair support?

I have a 3 year warranty on the phone and I'm a little annoyed at that I can't have them order the antenna and replace it.

I hope you got the insurance. If so, call the number they gave you, explain to them what happened and you should receive a new phone the next day. Good luck

If you're willing to pay for the replacement antenna, I think you can pick one up (along with a specalized tool for removing and installing antennas) from the Kyocera Accessories store... www.kyocerasmartphone.com, click on "Accessories").

Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback. I did get the insurance so as soon as I find that little piece of paper they wrote the number down on I'll call to get it replaced.

ummm, was that insurance through VZW (Asurion or lockline)? If so there is probably a deductable of $35 or $50 -- I think they are all $50 now. Antenna directly from Kyocera store is $15...

Good question, if the that is true then I will be buying the antenna from Kyocera. I'll have to check my paperwork. Neither name looks familar.

Thank you.
