Does anyone know how to hack the 7135 top LCD or know of a hack that allows one to customize what is show there?

I'd really like to have the date MM/DD/YY displayed after the time. I've poked around the ROM files on my 7135 but I can't find anything that specifies how the top LCD displays information.

From what I understand, the Date can not be added.

I d/l and examined the Kyocera SDK yesterday but I couldn't find any API's that set what is displayed on the outer LCD. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Is it the Palm SDK that I should examine?
