I have tried several sites to download AfterBurner 3.2 and either get errors indicating the files don't exist, OR ...if a file is seemingly downloaded to my desktop, Winzip has a problem opening it. Does anyone have a WORKABLE "link" to download from OR a usable copy of AfterBurner 3.2 that they can provide me (PM or email)?
I just downloaded and opened Afterburner from PalmGear with WinZip 9 successfully. Sounds almost as if a proxy server at your ISP is mangling ZIP files. Can you download other files from PalmGear OK?

If he posts a way to email, someone could download the *trial* version and email it to him. I think that would be legal.

FYI,
On the PalmGear download page, when I download the "trial" ZIP version, I DO get a zipped file that downloads. However, the filename is: "AfterBurner3[1].2". THIS file will open, but when I download the v3.2 file from any site, WinZip will not open the file. I get the message: "Cannot open file. It does not appear to be a valid archive. If you downloaded this file, try downloading it again." Anyone have any ideas what's going on here?
It speeds up or slows down the processor somewhat, so apps run faster or slower. You can get faster apps and less battery, or slower apps and more battery time.
Your problem might not be with the file itself but rather Internet Explorer. There are circumstances under which IE will delete the downloaded file before the application responsible for it gets control. The way around this problem is to empty your temporary Internet files:
1. Select "Tools | Internet Options..." from within IE.
2. Press "Delete Files..." in the "Temporary Internet Files" section.
I find I have to do that once every six to eight months.
Try holding down the SHIFT key on your keyboard while clicking on the download link in IE. That usually forces IE into download mode. I've had nearly 100% success downloading troublesome files that way.

Thanks SilvrDrgn & kdean...
I finally just purchased AfterBurner @ PalmGear (when you "buy" you get v3.2, whereas it seems the "free" version is v3.1); set it up per reccomendations from this forum; and all is well ....and faster! I set all programs at 45mhz, ...the max for my 7135 was determined to be 52, so I think I have some margin....maybe I'll play around kicking the speed up when I have some time to "crash-and-recover."
I'm sure most of you already know this. When you use category ring, an incoming call plays the default tone for one or two ringers. This happens while the phone looks up the caller ID, and after the caller is identified, the correct category ring plays.
I'd like to find out if overclocking the Address Book function can get rid of the Category Ring Delay.
Can someone who already owns afterburner, overclock the Address Book and see if the category ring plays, or do you still get the default ringer first.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think we've been down this road before with another thread but I may as well ask the above people. I downloaded the trial and I believe it is crippled at a speed that is much lower than what is needed to give it a true trial. Is the speed difference "all in your head?" or is it a marked difference? Any annoying crashes yet?

AfterBurner is well worth its registration price. There is a noticeable difference in speed when you overclock applications that are slow. I selectively overclock applications on my 7135, but otherwise run it at normal speed to keep battery consumption down. Make sure you have version 3.20 with the "Profile" function. That function tells you the minimum and maximum speeds the CPU is capable of and still remain stable. So, long as you don't go outside that range, it won't crash. The maximum speed on mine is 45 MHz as reported by the Profile function. I set the applications that I overclock (in the AfterBurner "Speeds" window) to 44 MHz just to be sure. No problems here, and I enjoy the noticeable speed increase. In the AfterBurner settings window, you also need to be sure to set the following options:
Fast Mpx - Off
Fast Page - ON
Slow Mpx - ON
Fast Hotsync - Off (this one can be set either way I think)
Adjust ticks - ON
Originally posted by Krazman I have mine set for MPX ON @ 49Mhz (as allowed by my profile). I have had no problems in the nearly 2 years I have been running it on my 7135.
Which one is on ??? Fast or slow Mpx?? You didn't specify.
