Treo in and 7135 out at VZW???

Kiplinger's August Mag, page 27, has an ad for the Treo 600, and at the bottom of the the ad Verizon has a corporate logo to indicate that they are a supplier of this phone. Have we seen the end of Kyocera at VZW?

My local Verizon store told me July 12, 2004 is the launch date.

I wouldn't get too excited about the 600. The form and function of the 7135 is much better for those of us that want a flip phone first and a supporting Palm second.

Form factor is exactly why I am NOT Changing to the Treo 600!

Still waiting for a OS 6 flip phone.....waiting...waiting....

Until then, my trusty 7135 works perfect.

I know that I don't want the treo because it not tri-mode. The last time I look if you don't have a tri-mode phone you could have some areas with no service.

Personally, it is the Samsung i550 that would be good for me. Unfortunately, it is Sprint only.

Be careful about the i550. It does not do much of what is promised. I had one for about a year with Sprint service. It's a great size and the PDA was as good as the Kyo. BUT it does not instant or text message, you cannot download or install custom ringers. There are a lot of issues whether with Samsung or Sprint. It was a welcome sign to come to the 7135 and this forum and not spend hours trying to rig the phone for what I thought it already could do. Read the i550 forum before ever going to one.

Sounds to me like you are referring to the Samsung i500. The i550 isn't even available yet.
