Teal Lock and Charging issue

Has anyone else had issues with Teal Lock when charging? I plug mine in to charge every night. When I plug it in Teal Lock has already locked down the phone. (I have it set to lock after 5 minutes of power off or no activity.) When I unplug it in the morning, the phone is no longer locked??

Some other history:

- At 1 am I have Backup Buddy VFS do an automated back up.
- I leave the phone on all night as it is charging as I do need to be reached 24/7

This has me worried in that it seems like to over ride my security all one has to do is plug it in?

Just wondering if this is a simple configuration issue with Teal Lock or if an issue with the phone.

Also as a side note I noticed that my external top screen lights the entire time it is plugged in. Does it do this for everyone or should it be lit just as the battery is taking a charge. Couldn't find this info in the manual.

I also use TealLock and like it very much.

I usually set my phone to lock after every reset, so I tested your situation by setting it to lock after 5 minutes of inactivity.

When my phone was in the cradle, it didn't automatically lock after 5 minutes of inactivity. It stayed powered on. I couldn't find a setting that determines whether or not the device stays on when in the cradle.

But when I take the phone out of the cradle, it locks after 5 minutes. I then put the device in the cradle, and it then asks for my unlock password.

If your device is in the wrong hands and someone puts it into a cradle, it will ask for a password as long as the device was inactive for 5 minutes or more.

And Backupbuddy works because TealLock hasn't locked the phone out, being in the cradle when the phone was still unlocked.

Lastly, my external led does not blink when charging.

Thanks for the reply,

I too have done some more testing. Last night I set my options so that Backup Buddy runs at 1:45 am and then added another Autolock attribute of locking at 2 am. Then I turned on the option "Wake up to Lock". This seemed to do the trick. But I will test again and ensure that it is unlocked when I put it in the cradle tonight.

On the external screen issue do you mean that the Caller ID screen does not stay lit when charging? That is what I was wondering about. Mine stays lit the entire time I have it plugged in. Seems like a lot of usage for the little screen so just making sure it is normal.

Oh.. I thought you meant the led that is in-between the screen and the graffiti area.

Yes, the external caller id screen does stay lit when in the cradle.

While the 7135 is in the cradle, you can make the external LCD light go out by closing the flip and pressing the up/down volume buttons a couple of times in each direction. After you do that, the light should go out after a few seconds. It does for mine.

Thanks.

I shall try this when I get to my cradle. It seems the light stays on when I keep my phone on during charging. Not sure why. I'll try the volume buttons though.

As for the TealLock issue I thought I had it licked but I don't. But it shouldn't be a security issue. As long as the phone is locked before putting it on the cradle, it stays locked. But if not locked it doesn't lock. Then when I remove from cradle it does lock after a couple minutes. I suppose the phone is just too active or something while charging to qualify as inactive or off? I thought by setting an auto lock time of 2 am and also wake to lock active it would be a final way of saying Lock Already!! But it didn't work.

This just might be a quirk I have to live with.

Thanks Silvrdragon... the button trick worked. Not sure if it's a big deal, but it just seemed like it would be a a lot of over use by having it shine all night long!

Thanks again
