Missing Ring Tones

The last few days my phone has stopped ringing. I went into the Phone Preferences to see if something had changed in the ring-by-category area, but all was set ok. Oh, I've had the phone for over a year, and not had this problem before.

Then I started changing the ringers, and I've found that only about 1/3 of the standard ring tones are working. For instance, I can hear the 'horror flick' ringtone, but if I change to 'fur elise' I get a click or 2 and that's it.

I've not made any ring tones or deleted any of the files. I saw that the ringers are stored in ROM. Any idea how to get them back without have to do a hard reset (or will that even work)?

You'll hvae to do a hard reset. Sounds ilek you may have some corrupt files. Make sure you have a backup of your phone with BackupBuddy or other backup software. Not all the files are backed up with a Hotsync.

Thanks. I was afraid that I'd have to do a hard reset. But, with Backup buddy, everything worked fine. I have my ringers back now!
