battery cover

This is so embarrassing.

I've lost my battery cover! I'm not sure when/how it fell off, but I can't find it anyplace. I'm actually surprised that the battery didn't fall out.

I guess I'll be using duct tape or electircial tape for a few days.

Does anyone know how I can get a replacement cover?

Thanks!

Try this link to Kyocera's Accessory Store:
http://store.kyocera-wireless.com/pr...6CXTNE70UQ6JL4

Hope it works. If not, just go to there website and follow the links to accessories - the battery cover goes for 7.99.

Good Luck

You shouldn't need duct tape (although, it makes for an industrial-chic look that MGuzzy would LOVE (http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/showt...threadid=25661)).

For the first month or so after I had mine, I thought the battery plate had not shipped with the phone. Instead, it just slipped out of the box and behind my desk when I opened it in a frenzy. My wife found it much later. I used it without the plate for at least a month with no duct tape. Not a problem.

$7.99?!?! Can we all agree that seems a bit steep?

$7.99 plus shipping and handling - the least expensive option is US Priority Mail (untraceable) for $3.99. Call it $12 bucks.

I wonder if your friendly neighborhood Verizon store might have an extra laying around for some reason that they'd give you for free, jhaupt...

That's a good idea - checking with the local Verizon store. I still have not had a chance to get out to one yet - they were closed by the time I made it out after my sons game. I've been holding off on my order for this very reason. (if I do have to order the battery cover from kyocera, I'll probably get the old style antenia at the same time. )

By the way - I decided against the duct tape. That stuff sometimes leaves a nasty residue that is hard to clean off. Since the battery seems fairly secure, I'm just using a few pieces of scotch tape. So far, so good - but it's only been 24 hours.

I'll keep you posted.

Thanks everyone,

The local Verizon store was quite helpful. The chap at the counter went into the back room, came out a minute later and said "does this look right?".

He didn't ask for my name, phone number, or anything. He just solved a customer problem and moved on to the next customer.

That is quite a rare thing these days.
