strange SMS behavior.. anyone else?

usually when I clicked MESSAGES from the phone menu - then chose TAP TO ENTER REICPIENT... it would allow me the option to hunt for a name.

now it says - PICK FROM A RECENT LIST... and doesn't allow me to find a new person..

now I have to either - use TAKEPHONE or go to entry itself, edit, highlight the name and then create a new SMS and paste it.

Is this a setting or something?

On the "Message To:" screen there is a drop down menu that is labeled "Action". Click on action and select "Address Book". That should solve your problem.

If you install the "TAKEphONE plus! hack" along with TAKEphONE (and activate it using a hack manager such as X-master), then you can search for the contact in TAKEphONE, then hit the "Messages" button to automatically launch the "Messages" app with the target address in a new message.

Here is another strange SMS phenom...When i go to the messages app the list of messages (either inbox or outbox) appears briefly and then disappears. I have to go to the drop down menu and choose inbox or outbox and the messages reappear. This is extremely annoying...anyone had this problem or know how to fix?

Your help is appreciated.

I had that problem when using colorize. When i reset the color to standard, it goes away.

I use Colorize and I have not had this problem. On the contrary, Colorize has helped make The Precious more readable. You can customize your own color combos, or use one of their stocks.

It may not be Colorize per se, but the color scheme you chose. You may also need to get a later version. I'm using Build 5102, and the Patriot #2 scheme.

Hope that helps.
