I've come unstuck in Time

My phone has recently (past 3 days or so) started displaying the wrong time. I live in the central time zone and when it's wrong, it displays the time as 6 hours earlier than it actually is. I think that's the time difference between CST and Greenwich mean time.

When it does this, sometimes it will revert to the correct time while I'm watching - other times it won't. The only other time keeping program (aside from calendar apps) that I have is Big Clock. Big Clock will agree with the time on the flip display. When I reset Big Clock, the flip display will become correct.

It also is inconsistent in the error occurring. Sometimes it's right, sometimes it's wrong. I haven't added any new software or had any recent hard resets or other settings changes.

The PDA Prefs have the Manual Time Set box unchecked and the Daylight Saving unchecked and the Time Zone set to USA Central.

Anyone have any insight into what might be causing this?

I think the time is set by your phone service provider. You might start there.

You can also set the time under Prefs Pda - date and time. You may have it on manual time set. Otherwise your Service provider sets the time.

Re: I've come unstuck in Time

Sounds like a classic chronosynclastic infidibulum problem to me.

I'd call a Trafalmadorian for help.

(sorry, the original subject line just kicked me into Vonnegut mode)

Yeah, I think it was Slaughterhouse 5. But the chronosynclastic infidibulum is from Sirens of Titan.

It's a great source of comfort to me to know that I can come to this forum and get assistance of a level unparalleled anywhere else!

Something one of you said must have been right on the money, because the problem seems to have spontaneously gone away.

I can't decide if it was the the chronosynclastic infidibulum or the Tucson. Either way, thanks for fixing it!
