I've been reading a little bit on some other boards about manually setting a verizon cell phone into "P rev4" to increase phone reception. Has anyone tried this on the 7135? Anyone notice a difference in signal strength?

I have no idea what you are saying with P rev4, but anything to boost RF is worth looking into.

once in debug mode (dial 111111, go to options, debug, 000000) i can change the mode from automatic but it always sets itself back...does anyone know how to make it stick?

Once in debug mode which mode does one select to get p rev4? Is it the "Cell CDMA Only" option? Like Demzrollin I can't figure out how to make it stick. If I go out of debug mode and back in the mode is set back to "Automatic".

I tried to set it to "home only" but also could not get it to stick.
