Software Update?

I was at a Verizon store the other day, and I asked one of the technicians if there was a new software update out for the 7135. A month or so on the board I remember seeing at least one message that it was forthcoming.

I didn't have time to let him do the update, but he said there was one out - can anyone confirm this? He wasn't very convincing, and he could have meant the one that came out ... (when? I've forgotten already - late 03?)

Software Update

*228 will only update your PRL which I believe has to do with how your phone locates the network.

The latest firmware for the 7135 that I know of is:

Phone software: MZ 1.0.44
PDA Software: SZ 1.0.29

You can find this by going to the Phone Info PDA applicaton and pulling down software from the drop down menu in the upper right hand corner of your screen.

I finally got a chance to stop in today. The techie at Verizon in Rochester Hills, MI checked the software and said there was NOT an update at this time and he hadn't heard of one coming down the pipeline (not that that means anything really). But I still swear someone on the board mentioned it about a month ago...

Yeah, I know, but the techie wouldn't tell me what version he had. He probably thought I didn't know how to check it my self. So I played along...

mk3013 still hasn't revealed what version his phone is. The suspense is killing me!

You're right. It was discussed. The thread is here.

...no new firmware updates forthcoming. HotSync's information is very good. I don't know if he works for Kyocera or Verizon or what. But I've never seen his info come out wrong.

On my replacement phone which was shipped and received last week, the versions are the same as posted by mdlissner above.
the unit appears to be brand new, not remanufactured.
