Outlook configuration and hotsync to 7135
So this is likely more of a problem with Outlook than the 7135 but hopefully someone has heard of it and figured it out.
In Outlook (using 2000) the deafult for phone numbers includes the plus (+) symbol for denoting the international calling prefix which you can configure in your dialler to apply as 011 or whatever and drop as for calls in your region. This all works fine at the office when using Outlook as the speed dialler however it is a different story on the 7135. The 7135, when synchronising brings the entire string down [e.g. + 1 (403) 555-1212] and the 7135 says oh, your phone is an area code 403 phone so drop the + and the 1. Now this is fine for calls that are not local but in the 403 area code there are some that are long distance. And even more of a pain is trying to ring back to from another area code (e.g. 780) as the phone still thinks you have 403 code phone and dumps the + and the 1 from all 403 calls but keeps them for the 780 calls. Smartly enough most cell carriers have adopted protocols to either ignore the 1 or use it depending on the call being made so all speed dials can be configured with the 1 403 etc and will work for local calls.
I did mess around with the dialling configuration on the phone to no satisafction. The only way I found around this was to go through the 7135 manually and delete the + symbols from each entry. This way the 7135 dials the number then, it leaves the 1 in and all works very well. The + symbols, however, get replaced on the next hot sync. I've gone through Outlook settings and can't find anyway to turn off the default and make the + symbol optional.
So, my questions how do I get the + symbol default turned off in the Outlook contacts phone numbers?
