Lightbulb Purchasing....

Okay, I will be purchasing, through vzw store, in a few weeks. New to all this, will anyone who cares to, please let me know what accesories, upgrades and programs which are considered essentials for this phone.

I have read where some have purchased through e-bay or other sources, I shall consider the same route and buy in advance.

Thank You...

Samuel

backup buddy, bigger SD card (64, 128, or up). These two for sure.

some would say car charger, backup battery.

This is a very nice phone... had mine for about 5 days now. The only problem I have is the battery life... it really sucks. The phone died on Saturday since I do use my phone a lot. My old trusty Qualcomm 2035a never died.

The verizon rep told me to get another battery... then I would have 1 pda/phone and one battery...

I swear that nothing is perfect, but this phone almost is...

oh, and don't load up a bunch of 3rd party applications.

lol.

Thank You Theog...

Just the specific information I was desiring. I went back to read some of the previous posts and all, if not most dwelled on likes and dislikes of programs one had or what programs they would like to see etc..

You provided the basics. Until I get the phone workings down, will a 64 SD card do or should I go for the gusto and get 128? I Am in the mortgage business and this is my first cell phone ever and wish to make sure that I get most of this phone before it becomes totally obsolete!

Thank you again.

Samuel

The general concencious is to get the biggest SD card your pocket will afford. The 256 MB cards are a pretty good deal, but a 512 or a Gig card surely wouldn't go to waste. It seems you can't go wrong having more space. I'm always using mine for more than just backups. Keep in mine you can use the SD card for:
-MP3s,
-Application data files, many programs will store thier data files to the SD card and many programs you can run from the SD cards. Saving the maps for Mapopolis comes to mind.
-general data files-I use mine to transport data files from computer to computer, no more floppies for me

MGuzzy is correct... spend the extra money on 256 or 512. I purchased a 64 ONLY for backups and a file or two every now and again.

Do you work with Excel a lot? I would never use the pda portion of the phone for Excel spreedsheets, but some people do... those spreedsheets can get very large, very fast....

I guess what you purchase extra depends on what YOU will use the phone for. I don't drive and talk on the phone so I don't need a hands free kit. Some people do need this kit if they are in sales or drive from apppointment to appointment and can't afford to pull over. Some people need an ear bud.

I guess the basic is a nice backup and SD card to keep the backup... the basics. From there you could spend as much as your pocket will handle!

Thumbs up

Thank you all for the input. I will take your sage advice and get either 128 or 512 SD card for sure.

Tell me what you think about the blue tooth cordless ear piece, please?

Thank you all again for the valuable input.

Samuel

Kingston 512MB SD is currently $144 on ecost.com. It's been as low as $119 in the past month or so...

jsimonson0 - Thank you for that post, which was my next question. I saw a Toshiba 512 for $177 vs. $249 for a SanDisk which is (OEM recommended I take it). $144 sounds real reasonable to me.

Thank you...

Samuel
