Calling from other apps

This has probably been covered before, so forgive me if I'm being redundant . . . I tried searching but without much success. I'm just wondering if other have noticed this . . .

I first bought a 7135 early in 2003. This year my phone died and Verizon replaced it with one of the new ones that included the newer software (44/29 I think - you know, the one with Graffiti 2 and all).

On my old phone I could highlight a phone number in say a memo or text message, hit the green phone button, and the phone would call the number. Now I get nothing. What happened? That was one of my favorite features!

I think you somehow messed up your saved preferences file.

This is why Kyocera warns you about deleting the file from any old palm applications before you synch up the phone for the first time.

Try deleting the saved preferences from your back up folder, then do a hard reset and then a hot synch.

You will have to input all your preferences again (such as the ringtones, keypress tones etc.)

Please keep us posted

Um, I've never even hot-synched the phone - since I got the brand new one I've just been using it and having reloaded all my old stuff.

Delete saved preferences? Pardon my ignorance, but through the file manager or what?
